The idea for the painting was born in 2015 when artist Agne Kisonaite was on vacation in Thailand. Agne says, "While lying on the beach and browsing Pinterest, one of the singer Madonna's pictures caught my eye. I always have paper and a pencil at a hand, so I drew my own interpretation of this photo right away. The drawing stayed in my sketch folder for a couple of years. I had even forgotten it until one day I found it in a pile of works. I decided not to wait any longer and to paint it on a 70 x 100 cm canvas."

The sun and the sea can be thanked for lending inspiration as well as for the colour scale of the painting. The face, heated by the rays of the sun, looks quite light on a hot, bright day. The dispersed rays on the neck and body are of darker tones. In intense light, clear, hard shadows are formed. According to the artist, it is fun to portray things that not everyone notices while painting: it creates intrigue and allows you to see something you have never discovered before every time you look at the painting.
