Favourite Heels is a modern painting reproduction which has the potential to become an important element of decor for your living room, bedroom or spacious wardrobe.

If we were to name the prime theme in Agne Kisonaite’s creative work, the answer would be simple: women and femininity. Many women have great fascination with fashion. They have their own style and know what makes them happy. A favourite pair of shoes. A classic lipstick always on hand. The little black dress that’s appropriate for any event.

Painting is Agne’s expression of sensations, and colours reflect her particular perception of aesthetics. Her artworks maintain harmony and proportion and simultaneously employ contrasting colour combinations and an interesting composition. The works deliberately highlight details or fragments, and a static image emerges from the use of acrylic paint and a wide brush.

Agne follows the principles of academic composition, the planes of which are separated by sharp strokes and lines. Rich colours highlight the scene. Sharp contours, unexpected in their application, separate planes or objects and imbue the painting with symbolic meaning. Capturing the moment is another important part of art. As the figure freezes in motion, the vigorous and lively quality of femininity is emphasized.

Agne got the idea for the painting Favourite Heels when she was at home. She decided that the shoes would be at the top of the painting in a place of prominence and honour. The painting focuses on a pair of feminine shoes, and the legs are exposed in the space by a broad white-and-blue contour. The bold strokes and the prevailing cold colour palette highlight the grace of the red heels. The high heels and the graceful figure emphasize and complement each other, creating a cohesive image of a self-confident woman.

Favourite Heels is the artist’s first painting on canvas, from 2010. The original work has been exhibited in the personal exhibition Red is Not Blue in Vilnius and Klaipeda (2012) and Beauty Supplements (2013), and a reproduction was presented at the exhibitions of the Michaelson Boutique and The Bubbles. Champagneria.

This painting is one of the closest to the artist’s heart because it captures her own pair of favourite high-heeled shoes. The original of the piece is not for sale (it hangs in a respectable place, in the living room at home). Nevertheless, you may purchase a reproduction of this evocative piece.
