Moon
In Moon I paint the two most important lights of our sky, the sun and the moon.
Description
In Moon I paint the two most important lights of our sky, the sun and the moon. Amid the whirlwind of change they stand for stability and continuity. The moon, with human features, looks at you lovingly and protectively – a divine presence and safety even in the darkest night.
Beside it the sun radiates its light, completing the scene and promising a new day. Together they are the perpetual cycle of life. The collage-like composition, in an art deco spirit, captures the magical passage from night to day. Acrylic on canvas, 70 × 100 cm, 2021. The original has found its home; this print is reproduced from it.
